Air Commodore AKM Harun Chowdhury, ndc, psc retired from the Bangladesh Air Force in 2007 after completing a distinguished career of 32 years as a military pilot. He served as Chairman, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh and made valuable contributions in the development of aviation sector in the country. As a United Nations Military Observer in Bosnia-Herzegovina he was awarded UN peace medal in recognition to his outstanding service as peace keeper. At present he is an advisor to a partnership firm and engaged in social activities.
