Dr. Shima Zaman is presently working in the Department of Law, University of Dhaka, as Associate Professor. She has passed her SSC examination in 1984 from Comilla Board and HSC examination from Holy Cross College, Dhaka Board in 1986 with distinction in both. She did her LLB (Hons.) from Department of Law, University of Dhaka in 1990 and stood First Class First. Later she completed LLM from the same law school in 1991 and stood First Class Second. She joined in the Department of Law, University of Chittagong in 1995 as Lecturer in Law and continued there up to December 2000. On December 2000 she joined in the Department of Law, University of Dhaka, as Lecturer in Law. She was promoted to the post of Associate professor in Law in 2011. Ms. Zaman did her specialized LLM on Intellectual Property Law sponsored by WIPO from George Washington University, USA in 1999. Later in 2008 she received MQRES Scholarship from Macquarie University, Australia to pursue PhD studies. She received PhD from Law School, Macquarie University in 2012. Dr. Zaman also involved with NGOs working on human right issues.
